Muffle a section of a trunk with a rag or a false patron. Shake the balloon for 3-5 seconds and apply foam into the barrel bore from the chamber side until foam appears from the muzzle end. Leave the weapon horizontal for 25-35 minutes. In case of severe contamination, repeat the process with an increase in exposure time up to 45-55 minutes.

Remove the remaining foam with patches. The result of the reaction to copper residues is the appearance of the blue color of foam or patches.
